Nikon 'D40x II' the D60.
The Nikon D60 is a replacement for the D40x, and it’s the new king of entry level DSLR’s from Nikon. Similar to the D40/D40x it is perfect for newbie’s to photography, light and easy to use. It’s help features are also great and it saves you bringing your manual everywhere with you.

To put is simple, this camera is the D40x II, but as Nikon has stated a while ago, they do not want to add any extra letters on product names to keep it simple and less confusing. A few of the new features are Active D-lighting, which lets you control the dynamic rage of your photo and allow you to fix accidental overexposure and underexposure, this feature is available on all of Nikons line up, but for that you have to go the retouch menu where as on the D60, its has its own button. T

he range finder is also cool, if you go to the advanced menu and turn on the rangefinder option, the metering bar becomes a focus distance indicator when in manual focus. This feature is not stated on and Nikon promo or PR but its there and a pretty cool addition. The new Airflow control system which is basically a mini vacuum inside the camera which collects dust and gets rid of it small ducts keeping is a very smart idea to keep your camera clean inside. Two extra improvements are the eye sensor on the view finder which can tell when you put the camera near your face and turn of the LCD screen so it doesn’t distract you, and the back screen display now spins when you rotate the camera.

A few nice additions, if your starting to get into photography and want to make a first purchase for a camera then I recommend it, but if your already using a Nikon D50,D40 or D40x then I’m not sure it’s worth buying this just for a few features.

Leica 'not new m9' camera
Leica may soon launch their first digital model to include a full frame sensor their chief hinted. Steven Lee (lecia CEO) said that it could be a future upgrade for their current M8 model but he appeared to rule out a new 'm9'. This news was announced at the PMA 08 held in Las Vegas, but Lee also noted that Lecia will take caution prior to launching it making sure the Full frame is ready and avoid similar issues that dogged the M8 launch "when. It ( the full frame sensor) is ready we will do what is right"said Lee. He said the camera will make its debut this year and Photokina (a trade show in Germany) would most likely be the first venue for people to see it.
